Museum Coffee Mornings in October 2025

  1. We are holding our usual COFFEE MORNINGS this OCTOBER  - on Tuesday 14th and 28th, between 11 am and 12.30 pm.

  2. It's only £2.50 for a coffee and cake, and includes free entry to the Museum. A great opportunity to view our collections!

  3. Why not stay a little longer and have a look around? A great chance to meet up with friends old and new.

We held our usual COFFEE MORNINGS in SEPTEMBER - three this month on Tuesdays 2nd, 16th and 30th, between 11 am - 12.30 pm.

The coffee morning on 16th September was a fundraising event for MacMillan Cancer Support. 

We are so grateful to everyone who came along and to those who donated prizes for the raffle. £200 was raised for this wonderful charity.

A full programme of events for the next few months is in the throes of being planned...... watch this space as details will be published when dates are confirmed!

Our Popular Beach Safaris - end of 2025 season report from Jane and Jonathan - 11th September:

Seashore Safaris need a decently low tide (where the more interesting creatures are to be found) to be worthwhile.  It was possible to hold one each week of the school holidays this year. 

Over the six sessions, we welcomed 36 adults and 29 children, and, with the assistance of our team of 7 helpers, we were able to show them some of the splendid creatures that live in and around our beach and rock pools. 

With a bumper season weather-wise for holidaymakers at the beach we were certainly pleasantly surprised that so many people came and joined in.

You never know what's going to turn up, yet each seassion produced some interesting finds, including strawberry and dahlia anemones, a good array of interesting crabs and fish (the preferred target for the younger ones!). 

It is hopefully true to say that a good time was had by all!  A big thank you to all the team for your help selling tickets at the museum and being on the beach for the safaris. Roll on 2026!

UPCOMING EVENTS

 OUR FIRST "PHOTO OPEN DAY"

"WHO? WHERE? WHEN?"

This event was a great success - lots of local people came along and made suggestions on who, where and when.   We are hoping to repeat the event later as quite a lot of villagers were away on holiday and we would like their input too.

 

CALLING ALL PARENTS AND SCHOOLCHILDREN! GREAT NEWS FOR HALF TERM WEEK!

TRADITIONAL GAMES WEEK

MUSEUM OPEN EVERY DAY FROM 10.30 am - 4.30 pm but games event not open on Tuesday 28th.

FREE ENTRY, DONATIONS WILL BE APPRECIATED

Come and try your hand at snakes & ladders, dominoes, pick up sticks, jacks, tiddly winks and many more - find out what we did before we had computers!

Our OCTOBER Evening Event is on Friday 24th at 7.30 pm.

WHICH WINE, WHICH CHEESE?

Presented by David Rowe, sampling several different wines and cheeses and deciding which goes with which!

Tickets are £12 and are strictly limited. Purchase must be made in advance at the Museum. More details to follow.

Victorian Christmas Craft Day on Monday 17th November.

And a fabulous musical evening on Friday 21st November.
