From Jan, a Combe Martin Museum volunteer: I've been here for several years and I find great reward in being a local guide for our visitors. Sharing our unique village history and traditions is a privilege, and the community vibe makes it a wonderful place to give back. April 2026.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers at Combe Martin Museum help to preserve and share the rich history of our village shaped by centuries of industry, maritime life, and local traditions.

Volunteering with Combe Martin Museum in a range of roles can offer fascinating and rewarding experiences.

Your contribution helps to keep local stories alive for future generations, and supports a top-ranking local museum ↗

Enhance the visitor experience for people from across the UK and beyond, and help with our Events↗

Help out at our busy Coffee Mornings - a great way to meet new people and tour the museum.

Help sustain Combe Martin's traditions such as the Earl of Rone Festival ↗

Our volunteers are more than just helpers; they are ambassadors of the North Devon coast, reaping the unique rewards of preserving our village’s living history.

From a volunteer: It's Hunting the Earl of Rone season in Combe Martin and we are all looking forward to it. It's great fun. I enjoy showing our museum video and sharing all the details with our visitors. May 2026.
